It’s been a hard few months. The current circumstances have had a real impact on all of us — our plans, our families, friends and day-to-day lives. More than ever, this June and July we look to our creator community to create new inspiring, caring and considerate ideas for Pinners.

As we move into winter, help Pinners remain positive with ideas they can action from home. Traditionally, Pinners might be going on their winter holiday. Of course, many have had their plans cancelled and instead continue to spend lots of time at home to keep others safe. Help Pinners stay entertained at home. Whether by throwing a hilarious pet party, hosting a winner dinner or enjoying doing absolutely nothing at all.

Align your board creations with our editorial themes (full list below) — to give yourself the best chance to get featured in Australia’s Spotlight space (the curated carousel in Pinterest home feed). And check out our editorial best practices for all the latest tips.

June

Fashion + beauty

  • Winter wardrobe: Although comfort is still top of mind, looking good helps Pinners feel good. Think thicker jackets, go-to trainers and comfy co-ords.
  • Spa day: Help Pinners relax at home with everything from planning what they’ll need for their at-home spa to the best products to achieve an authentic spa experience.
  • Zoom meeting outfit: Feeling like a boss, dressing like a boss (from the waist up). Think statement print shirts and comfort below the waist.

Finding balance

  • Art therapy activities: Help Pinners discover colourful, creative ways to feel more grounded and less stressed. Searches for art therapy activities +444% YoY
  • The joy of doing nothing: This time doesn’t have to be about learning new skills and being productive. Encourage Pinners to slow down and make time for themselves.

Food + recipes

  • Plant-based power: Pinners want to look after their health, show them healthy recipes that are rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
  • Fakeaway cook-along: Move over banana bread. Pinners are looking for step by step recipe videos to follow, from pasta making to faking their fave takeaway.

July

Home hub

  • Host with the most: Help Pinners throw a dinner party their friends and family will never forget. Give Pinner’s theme ideas — think taco Tuesday or meatless Monday.
  • Home theatres: How to enjoy movie releases at home, new binge-worthy series and at-home setups. Popcorn? Tick. Drinks? Tick.
  • Pet party: Pets have been loving this extra time with their humans and continuing to bring us joy. Give back and celebrate them with DIY ideas and pet playgrounds. Dog-safe cake recipes +167% YoY

Fashion + beauty

  • Colourful you: Can wearing bright clothes really beat the winter blues? Pinners are brightening up their wardrobe with mood-boosting tie-dye sweats and bold block neon colours.
  • Bare to full-face: More free time means that Pinners are practising their makeup skills and learning from you and your brand.

Internationally inspired

  • Armchair travel: Daydreaming about the days we can pack our suitcases and fly again. Show Pinners the wonders of this beautiful planet for someday travel.
